Tibet Fly/Ride tour is an alternate to overland Tibet Travel as compared to "High Road to Lhasa tour. You will fly in both directions to and from Lhasa, and all other travel in Tibet will be by motor-coach.

Day 1 USA/DELHI:
Welcome aboard your flight to Delhi, first stop on your Tibet tour adventure.

Day 2 DELHI:
Arrival reception and transfer to Hotel Claridges/Park Hotel.

Day 3 DELHI:
After breakfast we'll begin our tour which will take us to the Presidential Palace, Parliament House, India Gate, Qutab Minar Tower, Jantar Mantar, and the fashionable Connaught Circus. Red Fort, and Mahalaxmi Temple.


Day 4/5 DELHI/KATHMANDU:
Fly to Kathmandu in the afternoon and transfer to Hotel Del, Annapurna/Yak N Yeti Hotel. The hotel has beautiful views all around.. We have two days to tour Kathmandu, Patan, Bhaktapur and Pashupatinath while we acclirnatize for our Lhasa trip.

Day 6 KATHMANDU/LHASA:
Fly to Lhasa, most holy city of Buddhism and the former home of Dalai Lama. Your Tibet tour begins.

Day 7-8 LHASA:
During our Tibet vacation in Lhasa we'll visit Potala Palace, Jokhang, Sera, Drepung Monasteries, Barkur square and Ganden Monastery and observe the sky burial ceremony, where corpses are left out to be devoured by the birds.

Day 9 LHASA/GYANTSE:
Today we start our overland travel in Tibet to Gyantse and Shigatse. Travelling by jeep along the Friendship Highway we cross the spectacular Khamba La pass from which we’ll get stunning views of the snowy summit of Nazin Kang Sa 24,000ft) looking across the waters of the Yamdrok-tso Lake. We then continue westwards over another high pass, the Karo La (5,045m), from which you can see a huge spectacular glacier tumbling down to within a few hundred meters of the road. After passing through beautiful valleys and colorful Tibetan villages we arrive in the town of Gyantse. Our overnight accommodation is at the Gyantse Hotel.


Day 10 GYANTSE/SHIGATSE:
Drive to Shigatse crossing exhilarating passes over 16,000 ft. with stop enroute. Shigatse is the seat of Panchan Lama, second in command to Dalai Lama. Sightseeing Tashilumpo Monastery and surrounding buildings, later today we'll drive to Gyantse, an old fortress city between Xigatse and Lhasa on an old route to Bhutan. We'll visit khumbun, an immense chorten containing a number of sacred antiques.


Day 11 SHIGATSE/TSETANG:
Today we have long drive to Tsetang, the third largest city in central Tibet. Southeast of Tsetang we can see the mountain Gangpo RI (13,400ft.). It has a special significance for the Tibetans as it is the legendary birthplace of its people.

Day 12 YARLUNG VALLEY:
Today our adventure trip will take us to the Yarlung valley, which is also known as the Valley of Tombs. Yarlung is considered the cradle of Tibetan Civilization. It was from Yarlung that the early Tibetan kings unified Tibet in the seventh century, we'll see the massive burial mounds of these kings in Chongye. Yumbulagang, another major attraction of the area is perched on a crag like a medieval European castle and is considered the oldest building in Tibet. After a full day in the Yarlung valley we return to Tsetang for the night.

Day 13 LHASA/KATHMANDU/DELHI:
Early morning transfer to Lhasa airport for flight, Lhasa to Kathmandu and connect to Delhi. Drive to Agra, overnight at Hotel Taj View/Clarks.

Day 14 TAJ MAHAL:
This morning stand awe-struck when you visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise, certain to be an India tour highlight, as the colors on the white marble building give it a mythical aura. Completed in 1643, this exquisitely detailed monument is considered one of the finest architectural achievements. Our next stop is Agra Fort, built principally as a military establishment by Akbar in 1565, the red sandstone Agra fort was partially converted into a palace during Shah Jahan's time. Though the principal structure was built by Akbar, many more additions were made by his grandsons. This massive fort is 2.5 kms long, the colossal walls are 20 feet high and the whole fort is encircled by a fetid moat. Amar Singh gate towards the south is the only entry point in the fort. The building and structures inside the fort gives an impression of a city within the city. The marble pearl mosque inside the fort is one of the most stunningly beautiful mosques in India. Evening return to Delhi,and transfer to airport for homeward bound flight.


Day 15 DELHI/NYC:
Departure from Delhi for homeward bound.
