Day 1 USA/DELHI:
Welcome aboard flight to Delhi, enjoy hospitality fit for
royalty by silk sari clad hostesses. Indulge yourself with delicious Indian and
Continental cuisine.
Day 2 DELHI:
Late night arrival in Delhi, where after a traditional
Indian Garland welcome you'll be escorted to Hotel Connaught/ Qutab
hotel.
Day 3 DELHI:
After breakfast you'll visit the Presidential Palace, Parliament
House, India Gate, Qutab Minar Tower, Jantar Mantar, the fashionable Connaught
Circus. Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, Mahalaxmi Temple and Mahatma Gandhi Samadhi.
Day 4 DELHI/JAIPUR:
This morning, transfer to Jaipur and your Hotel Park
Plaza/ Trident. Balance of the day is at leisure
Day 5 JAIPUR:
Morning excursion to Amber Fort where you will be
able to ride on the back of an elephant to the top of the hill. In
the afternoon tour Jaipur including visits to the observatory of Maharaja
Jaisingh and the museum at the Maharaja City Palace. Drive past Hawa Mahal, the
Palace of Winds, the architectural marvel of the city
Day 6 JAIPUR/AGRA:
nroute to Agra well stop at Fatehpur-Sikri, the deserted sandstone city built
by Akbar. This imperial complex of forts, palaces, mosques
and temples was short lived
and today is a haunting testament to that era. Hotel Amar/Howard Park
Plaza.
Day 7
AGRA: Morning visit to the Taj Mahal,
one of the seven wonders of the world, built by Emperor Shah Jehan as a
mausoleum for his beloved Queen Mumtaz Mahal. Continue to Agra Fort, started by
Emperor Akbar and completed by three different Mughal Emperors. Stroll the
palaces and Halls of Public and Private Audiences of the mogul
emperors.
Day 8
AGRA/KHAJURAHO:This morning board the
Shatabdi Express train for Jhansi. Continue via motor coach to Khajuraho via
Orchha. Hotel Greenwood.
DAY 9 KHAJURAHO/VARANASI:
This morning visit the Tantric and Jain
Temples. You will be amazed by the erotic intricately carved poses sculptured
by the religious devotees, which cover the shrines. This
afternoon we fly to Varanasi, the most sacred Hindu City in India, where most
ancient Hindu temples dot the skyline on banks of Holy Ganges River. This
historical place is full of hustle and bustle of religious devotees, who come
here to wash their sins away. Hotel Hindustan.
Day 10 VARANASI:Our day begins with a boat ride on the Ganges River, whose holy
waters draw thousands of pilgrims. This remarkable tour shows the cleansing
baths and burning cremation ghats of Hindu Funeral Rituals.Later, this
afternoon We'll
visit Sarnath where Lord Buddha revealed his enlightenment to
Nirvana.
Day 11
VARANASI/KATHMANDU:
After breakfast, visit the Bharat
Mata Temple, with its map of India carved in marble, the Durga Temple and the
gold-spired temple of Vishwanath. Afternoon flight to Kathmandu, transfer to
Hotel Annapurna/Royal Singhi.
Day 12 KATHMANDU:
We begin this day with a morning tour of Kathmandu city,
visiting the Temple of Hanuman,
Dhoka Square, The House of the Living Goddess, the Royal Palace, and the city
markets. Afternoon free.
Day 13 KATHMANDU:
Morning is
free with an optional (but recommended, not included) flight-seeing tour of Mt.
Everest. Ample time for shopping for antiques and gifts. This afternoon we'll
visit Bhaktapur the city of religious devotees built in the shape of shell,
visit the Lion Gate, the Picture Gallery, the Golden Gate and the Palace of
Windows.
Day 14 KATHMANDU/DELHI:
Fly to Delhi, the majestic capital city of India. Delhi
blends within its folds a great cultural variety of India: an unceasing range
of activity, a million ways of saying 'You are welcome'. Day free to explore on
your own, great for shopping and browsing.
Day 15 DELHI/USA:
Depart early morning from Delhi for homeward
bound.
